Advice To Help Someone Stop Smoking Pot?

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

I want to help a 27 year old friend stop smoking marijuana. He says he wants to stop but it is hard for him. I try to encourage him to stop but I never know if I am being helpful. When I feel like he is acting strangely because he is high, I tell him. But is this just making him feel worse and therefore making him want to smoke? I would especially appreciate advice from someone who has quit smoking pot. What can I do (or not do) to help?
I cannot force him to go to re-hab since he is an adult; I’ve looked into it.
Thanks!

Take Control and Stop Smoking

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Take Control And Stop SmokingIt stands to reason that when it comes

to giving up an addiction everyone is different – People respond to different

methods and what is great for you may not work for a friend. However there are

many easy ways to take control and stop your smoking habit.

Fundamentally you must make sure that you are giving up for yourself and

no one else!! Do not do it because some one says you should… It must always be

what you want.

Set a date – A important date to you like a birthday or anniversary, or

simply the first of the month. Use this date as the date you give up smoking for

good.

Write a list for yourself of the reason you want to give up smoking.

Stick this some one you can see it and use it to strength your weakness if you

ever feel you are tempted to start smoking.

Although simply reducing the amount you smoke can work for some people

this is not for everyone, If you feel that this is for you then let some one you

trust look after your cigarettes for you in. In a sense they must ration the

amount you are allowed.

Go Public! Make sure everyone at work, at home and everywhere you

socialize know of your plans to give up! Not only will their support boost your

campaign, you will also be more likely to succeed as you will not want to let

people down!

Lastly work out how much you will save per year.. Use this to motivate

yourself. Think of the new clothes you can buy, or the holiday you can now

afford – You this as your motivation to stay an ex smoker forever!

Planning ahead and making sure you are fully prepared to be a non smoker will

drastically improve your chances of being able to give up. Remember that not

everything that works for you will work for everyone else, so use friends as a

support but not the golden rule! Find the way that works for you and stick to

it, in no time at all you will able to say you are officially a non smoker.

Should I Quit Smoking For Good?

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

I’ve been smoking now for two weeks. I’m able to quit whenever I want but the reason why I smoke is because if I get depressed I start to smoke. So I told myself that myabe it’s better to start smoking because of my depression instead of drinking beer. So I bought a pack and I’m about to run out. Should I go out and buy some more. I have the will power to stop smoking altogehter but I get depressed sometimes during the week like at least four or three times a week and I want to know if smoking helps. And should I keep on smoking if it takes my mind off of my depression? I smoke cigarette’s and I’m also a chain smoker. And I like the idea of dying so I want to keep smoking for the next 20 years until I get lung cancer and die from it. Is this normal and is smoking ok? And I’m thinking about smoking a pack a day.

How Can I Stop Smoking And Not Get Cankers ?

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

I have quit smoking several times. Every time I quit I get four to five canker sores. A doctor prescribed Kenolog in Orobase. I have also tried home remedies like salt water and apple cider viniger. Nothing works. Three doctors have even told me to keep smoking to keep the cankers away. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Plastic Surgery: Double Chin Resolutions

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Many people who are getting older or who are overweight suffer from having a double chin. This is a common occurrence in most instances. It can be hard to get rid of a double chin if you are not overweight. One solution is plastic surgery. Double chin solutions are rare. While plastic surgery is invasive, it most cases, it does not require an overnight hospital stay.

You can also have liposuction double chin surgery. This will suck out the fat that is in the double chin and this will reduce it. This surgery is one that does not require an overnight stay unless there are unseen complications that may occur. These are rare and most people are back at work within days of the liposuction double chin surgery taking place.

Having plastic surgery double chin solution may not be possible for all. This is because it is not covered by most insurance companies and those seeking this solution will need to pay for the surgery out of pocket. For those on low or fixed incomes, they will not be able to afford to have this type of surgery done and will have to live with their double chin.

Although they cannot afford the plastic surgery, other methods of double chin elimination are possible such as a healthier diet. Again, this is only possible for those who suffer the double chin because of weight gain. When the person is not over weight and has a double chin the problem is most likely a hereditary issue, in this case there is no help aside from skin creams and exercise.

Because of the sort of nature that the plastic surgery has, there may be some who will pass up on this option. They will probably try out the creams because they are less invasive. Make sure that you research a product properly before you try if for the first time, even if it is recommended to you by your physician. There are just too many products out there that make false claims or contain useless ingredients that in some cases can even be harmful. Knowing what will work best for you is the fastest path to a thinner chin.

Can You Get Bad Breath Because You Are On A Diet?

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Many of us are concerned about our body figure, and most of the time we try indulging ourselves to go through different diet plans that may somehow maybe very challenging to cope up with, in our system. Most of these diets have side effects such as dizziness, stomach cramps, and weakness. But have you ever heard about bad breath diets? Well, most of our diets results to this, and there are several reasons why diet can lead to bad breath.

If you are on a diet which lacks that much carbohydrate in the menu, then you probably will encounter this unpleasant problem. The body usually is in need of converting energy through the food that we eat.

Now since our body process involves the conversion of energy and carbohydrates is one of the main components involved in the process, the body uses substitute components to convert such as proteins and fats which when converted, may produce chemicals such as ketones. Ketones are known to be responsible for that unpleasant odor that can either be noticeable as you exhale air coming out from your body, or may be a noticeable foul odor in any other part of your body.

This could be very alarming to those who are on a low carb diet, and at the same time, exercising their way through to firm up those muscles and lose weight. Since they need to shed off those pounds, they would have to religiously follow their low carb diet.

Together with the diet itself, one needs to do frequent exercises to lose weight and keep the muscles going. As you do this on a regular basis, you then have to replenish your protein content. The same process goes on as you continuously produce ketones which is being released in your body. Next thing you know is that you already have that unpleasant smell coming out from your mouth.

Yes of course, you will definitely look slimmer by indulging yourself with these low carb diet plans, but the thing here is, would you be able to keep up with that unpleasant smell all the time? You may have temporary relief for this bad breath diet issue by continuously taking care of your oral hygiene, however this may not be a permanent resolution to your problem.

This is something that you cannot keep yourself away from if you continuously engage yourself with an unbalanced diet. Come to think of it, you should know by now that food is one of the major contributors why a person acquires bad breath. If you don’t stop yourself from keeping up with the same kind of diet, the greater chances of you having the same embarrassing problem all the time.

Come to think of it, you’ll just have to contemplate if this is something that is worth all of your dieting and hard work. If the effect of this diet that you have is losing your friends and nobody wants to talk to you anymore because of that bad breath, do you think it is still worth it? If not, then you may want to look for an alternative diet that cannot be considered as a bad breath diet.
