Can You Please Tell Me How You Quit Smoking?

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

I’m a 28 year old female who has been smoking 25 Marlboro Lights a day for 10 years. I have tried to quit before and stopped smoking for 6 weeks with the aid of nicotine patches.
No one in my house smokes, but I live in Spain now where 40% of the population smokes, so every cafe, bar, club etc I go to will be smoke filled.
I smoke mainly out of boredom because I have a short attention span and I need to kill time doing something. I also spend a lot of time on my own as I live in a foreign country.
My motives for quitting are health reasons and my boyfriend is going to buy me a puppy after a quit as he doesn’t want to raise a dog in a smoke filled environment :-)
My fears about quitting is that I don’t know what I will do instead in the 5 minutes that I usually smoke a cigarette in.
I don’t have much willpower and was thinking of trying the patches again. Can someone please share their experience on how they quit successfully?

Stop Smoking Easily – No Longer a Frustrating Pipedream!

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

“Smoking Causes Lung Cancer, Heart Disease, Emphysema, and may complicate Pregnancy.”

“Smoking can cause a slow and painful death.”

Despite statutory warnings as dramatic as this in the US and the UK, there are still plenty of us who just can’t seem to give up on the habit, no matter how hard we try. Finding a way to stop smoking easily has, until recently, been about as challenging and elusive as the search for the holy grail.

Smoking always starts out as a curiosity quencher. After “trying it out” the first time, the second and third times come quickly, heralding the start of a regular routine that is very costly in more ways than one.

The seriousness of the effects of smoking would, one could reason, be enough to see people giving up in their droves. Everyone knows by now that smoking is clearly linked to diseases like lung, mouth and throat cancer, heart disease and premature tooth decay, to name but a few. Nonetheless, most of us who smoke continue to persist with a habit that we tacitly acknowledge is an insidious killer, not to mention unpleasant and potentially dangerous for those around us.

Why?

Whereas getting into the routine is child’s play, getting out of it, or quitting smoking, can be hellishly difficult and enormously stressful. Many people will find that to stop smoking is every bit as tough as giving up any other form of substance abuse such as alcohol, marijuana, prescription and other drugs.

To complicate matters, withdrawal symptoms are common after quitting. Mood swings, sleeplessness, cramping of the muscles, cravings and coughing are good examples.  These nasty effects are often laid at the door of the substance called nicotine (or lack of it) that is known to cause addiction. But the truth is that cigarettes have been found to contain thousands of chemicals, many of which may be toxic and/or addictive.

And to add a final insult to the injury, those who successfully stop smoking often find themselves ballooning in weight as they distract themselves from their erstwhile habit with frequent snacks and various other ‘munchies’. These extra ‘treats’ and the cost of the various pills, patches and gums that many use to assist the process, often wipe out the financial gains from quitting.

But in all the gloom, there is some great news for those of us – and our loved ones – who long to ‘ditch the weed’. There are programs on the market today that can help people to stop smoking easily and quickly, without the use of supplements and nicotine replacement aids while sidestepping all the hated withdrawal symptoms and avoiding weight gain. It sounds almost too good to be true but the truth is that these programs have remarkably high success rates.

The secret to success lies within each and every one of us. As it is proving to be the case in so many areas of our lives nowadays, our very own personal belief system and our frame of reference for what we think is possible and not possible holds the key to making dramatic and lasting changes.

And, slowly but steadily, smokers are coming to realize that the search for a magic pill, patch or drug is not the answer. The only approach that really does bear fruit in the honorable quest to stop smoking easily is (with a little help) to look within.

I defiantly want to be done smoke completely as soon as possible but just didn’t’ know if gradually stopping or cold turkey was the best. While there are numerous ways through which you can actually achieve your goals, you need to try and understand that, unless and until you experiment with your day today life, you would never be able to fully understand the actual implications of this wonder drug. While there are individuals, who have agreed to have used this natural supplement to maintain their health, that there were certain limitations, which people should keep in mind people went on to overdose them to achieve a great health and a glowing skin.

An excess of resveratrol can always trigger a very fast action of the digestive glands, this hyper activity of the enzymes can cause pains in the lower abdomen and often lead to indigestion. There are times when you find the adrenaline rush in your body after an over dosage of resveratrol. It is the same feeling which one feels after having a sip of black coffee. It almost the similar feeling as one feels kicked up when they consume coffee and tea.

At times people may even feel dizziness after the over dose of Resveratrol. However, the degree of dizziness differs from the person as it depends a lot on the body weight. Insomnia is experienced by the people when they take more than 35 mg of Resveratrol a day. Thus it is always preferred that resveratrol should be taken only after they have gone through the usage manual thoroughly.

People when take an overdose may end up feeling dizziness. Although very few people have reported this feeing, the fact still remains that, unless and until you try the supplement on a personal basis, you can never gauge its side effects. Besides, such side effect, in reality, is a blessing in disguise.

Insomnia is another common problem faced by the people after they start taking this drug. Any quantity more than 35 mg per day can lead you to feel insomnia and such other mental effects.

While this is not a serious phenomenon, there have been numerous instances wherein individuals have complained of high blood pressure, which in turn stays for a limited time period before subsiding and getting back to its normal state. Hence, this is not a serious issue and is supposedly, a temporary phenomenon.

Finally a Coffee Alternative that Truly Works!

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

I’m sure you’ve seen the now famous old time photo on T shirts with the guy literally vibrating and the saying “Coffee; Is the Planet shaking or is it just me?”

Granted that’s humorous. But the real reason it’s funny, is because it’s true. We only really think things are funny when we can relate to them in some way and for us to really relate well there must be at least a bit of truth to it.

Did you know, when polled, most coffee drinkers said they would like to try a coffee alternative if one existed that actually worked and that didn’t taste like recycled motor oil (Ok, I added the motor oil bit, but you get the point).

I know, we all have our own personal reasons why we want to get off coffee and I do respect that, however I have compiled a few just to illustrate a couple of the reasons why I no longer drink the stuff.

The top ten reasons you should find a good coffee alternative right now are 1. You haven’t blinked since the last lunar eclipse. 2. You get a speeding ticket even when you’re parked. 3. The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse. 4. You sleep with your eyes open. 5. The only time you’re standing still is during an earthquake. 6. Your eyes stay open when you sneeze. 7. You chew on other people’s fingernails. 8. You’re so jittery that people use your hands to blend their margaritas. 9. Your only source of nutrition comes from “Sweet & Low.” 10. Charles Manson thinks you need to calm down.

We all know we really want to get off this addictive roller coaster we call Java but what are the coffee alternatives out there? Is there really a coffee alternative that works?

Yes, absolutely there is, it’s a South American herb called Yerba Mate that the natives of the regions of Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil have been drinking for Centuries.

It has the power to Invigorate the mind and energize the body without giving you the jitters the shakes or the dreaded Crash! And It can do all this while supplying you with one of the world’s most potent antioxidants to help keep you healthy and well.

There are two problems however: 1. Yerba Mate all by itself will not amount to much of a mainstream coffee alternative without the help of some other herbs like Catuaba and Pata De Vaca. These serve to turbo charge it and really give you that ultra crisp sharpness that a North American connoisseur demands.

2. It has to still be Green and Unroasted or most of the nutritional and antioxidant benefits are destroyed. It must also be Organically grown because some of the pesticides they use in those countries have long since been banned from use in the USA. And of course if it’s Organic they aren’t using any sprays at all.

So, does a viable alternative to coffee really exist. Sure it does and I drink it every day. You Just have to find a blend of the herbs Yerba Mate, Catuaba and Pata De Vaca.

Once you find your perfect combination of these herbs your search for a viable coffee alternative that works will be over. And you will be a happy camper who doesn’t have the jitters and no longer crashes just like me.

Patrick Shelley will now share the real secret Alternative to Coffee along with two FREE reports on a website devoted to doubling your energy by using a Coffee Alternative.
