Should I Quit Smoking Or Go Back To Smoking, I Quit On Accident 3 Months Ago?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I started smoking when I was 3 and smoked until I was 34. Then i quit on New Years eve this year…i just quit cold turkey because I thought I had to…but I didn’t want to. I like smoking actually. Its other people that don’t like it.
I thought I was going to join the military, so I quit smoking because you are not allowed to smoke in boot camp. Well, I found out I can’t get in the military because I am color blind.
I’m not to worried about smoking’s damage to my health. I can still run a mile under 6 minutes and my genetics are pretty good. My grandfather started smoking at age 5 and he dies of emphysema from smoking… but, that was when he was 95 – it took smoking 90 years to kill him.
At age 3, my mother gave me a cigarette and i started regular pack a day at 12 years old. My mother is a pot head and she didn’t know any better.
Here’s my dilemma. I enjoy smoking and I’ve been doing it for 30 years. Its easy for me to quit because I understand why people smoke and why they quit. Most people can’t quit because they think its hard… but its actually easy. People only think its hard because that is what people said. In actuality all you have to do to stop smoking is stop smoking. It requires no physical effort… You do nothing!
I figure I made it 3 months with no smoking maybe i should just continue. But i will always miss smoking. I also like to drink alcohol and get drunk but i never got addicted to that. I haven’t had a beer in over a year.
What do you guys think i should do. I like smoking and drinking but i don’t do them anymore because everyone else seems to not like them. I always cared about what other people think – but now i miss out on the enjoyable things in life.
What should I do?

Insomnia – Natural Treatments

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder which results in people having difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, and it is a disorder which affects millions of people. Of course as is to be expected, there are an abundance of medications available for treating this disorder. However, an increasing number of people are now looking for natural treatments rather than having to rely on prescription medication or over-the-counter medication. Interestingly enough, it has long since been established that insomnia can be classified into a one of two categories, namely primary insomnia and secondary insomnia. The purpose of this article is to shed some light on the various treatments available and also on the condition itself.

Of course, before one can decide which treatment is best, one first needs to determine which type of insomnia you’re suffering from. In essence, primary insomnia refers to a person who is perfectly healthy apart from the sleeping disorder itself. On the other hand, those who suffer from secondary insomnia are more than likely suffering from the disorder due to an underlying condition. In other words, some people may experience insomnia simply because they are taking certain medications or even certain products which contain alcohol.

As far as determining a suitable natural treatment is concerned, one also needs to take into consideration the length of time a person suffers from the disorder. For example, if insomnia is preventing you from getting a proper night’s rest once or twice each week, then it would be safe to assume that you are suffering from acute insomnia. If on the other hand this condition is preventing you from getting adequate sleep three or more times each week, then by all accounts you are suffering from chronic insomnia.

Essentially, there are numerous factors which can contribute to the onset of insomnia. For example, those who suffer from acute insomnia may often experience difficulty sleeping due to stress, medication, or any other form of discomfort. Those who suffer from chronic insomnia on the other hand, often suffer from this disorder due to excessively high levels of stress or one or more medical conditions. Even depression can play a significant role in whether or not a person is able to get to an adequate amount of rest. Of course, if insomnia is caused by depression, anxiety, or stress, then it only stands to reason that reducing stress levels is perhaps one of the best natural treatments.

There are many symptoms that are often present in the insomnia sufferer. One of the most common experiences for sufferers of this sleep disorder is feeling sleepy throughout the day. This comes as a direct result of interruption in the ability to rest appropriately at night. In addition to this, many may discover that they are unable to focus on important tasks, concentrate as needed, and even remember important information. Mood complications such as high levels of marked irritability, depression, and being emotionally responsive in an open manner may all result in the person that is unable to fall asleep easily and stay asleep.

If a person suffers from this condition, it is essential to research natural treatments for insomnia. Sleep is essential when it comes to the health of a person. It assists in providing a natural restore to the body as well as the mind. Muscle and tissue repair occurs when an individual is sleeping. The immune system is boosted naturally. It provides a person with the energy that is necessary to function throughout the day. Without sleep, it has been said that the human body would have a challenging time continuing in life in excess of three weeks!

As each day draws to an end, the human body produces a substance known as melatonin but unfortunately it doesn’t always produce a sufficient amount. The good news is however that melatonin is now available on the market, together with valerian, both of which have the ability to ensure that one can get a proper night’s rest due to the fact that both substances are known to promote and enhance sleep. Considering that both these products can help to ensure that you have sufficient energy to get through your day and that you don’t experience unexplained mood swings, it’s hardly surprising that they are two of the most popular natural treatments available.

As you may already know, the market is full of natural products and remedies which are said to be effective in treating insomnia. However, the vast majority of medical providers still continue to speak highly of both melatonin and valerian for the treatment of insomnia. For those who experience difficulty with falling asleep, or those who continuously wake up at all hours of the night, valerian or melatonin may well prove to be the end of your suffering.

The Safest Healing Methods Are Alternative Medicine

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Its bothers me that most people believe prescription drugs are the best healing cure. They will spend years subscribing to this method and still wont resolve their illnesses..The reason they wont get to the bottom of their illness or disease is because prescription drugs are not the correct answer. In fact, in most cases, you can generate additional problems by utilizing prescription drugs.

Dont believe it? Then why is it, many times, that when you return to your doctor for another visit, you may get an added prescription drug to solve an extra problem? Your body has a built-in healing system. It will do its job flawlessly if you will only do your part by not abusing it. That means feeding it the correct foodstuff, exercising regularly, managing stress, adding additional nutrients to your daily regime and eventually weaning off of any prescription drugs you may be using.

I share this information with every person in my articles, I write and present to directories, on my web site and as well as on my blog. I also share this information with friends I know who have some major ailments. What is extremely disturbing to me is a number of of these friends are so brainwashed by their doctors that they discourage them from believing the alternative method is not the best.

One friend I talked to about alternative methods has had a severe heart problem for twenty five years. He has had by-pass surgery and a number of other other minor surgeries over the years. He isnt persuaded anything else can resolve his health problem except his MD and multiple prescription drugs. But he has had a number of life threatening episodes ever since then.

Another friend I talked with who has even more problems feels the same way concerning his doctor and his medications. Even though he listened to my presentation about my methods, he discussed it with his physician who advised him to snub my ideas.

I find it hard to understand why a MD would raise objections to alternative healing methods for their patients which is, by far, the safer way to treat. But then I suppose I should understand because doctors get very restricted training about nutrition in all their yrs. in medical school.Only naturopathic, osteopathic and holistic doctors understand the importance of natural medicine cures and remedies for those they are responsible for treating.

The power that Big Pharma has on this situation, the medical association attitudes and the U.S. Congress being brainwashed by each of these organizations contributes to the sorry state of the countrys health. The new administration of Obama in all likelihood will not resolve this issue either. There is only 1 answer to this major health problem and it is education.

There needs to be legislation to set up some kind of an educational program to instruct citizens how to become healthier individuals. If we get that completed we will have a healthier America. However if this ever gets completed it will be a miracle. You have to recognize that by educating citizens to become healthier that means less dependence on drugs is required.

A lesser amount of dependence on drugs means less business for drug companies and also less business for physicians and hospitals. You see why I say if that ever occurs it will be a miracle. So whats the answer to this major health problem here in the US? Health researchers, alternative health newsletters written by alarmed physicians and other concerned persons convincing the general citizenry to take personal responsibility of their health and practicing alternative methods of cures is the only answer.

This is the only way we can get this job completed. And believe it or not it is starting to happen even though its a protracted process. More and more people are learning that their MD’s are not correctly treating them and that prescription drugs are not the path to wellness. It may take yrs. for this movement to ultimately solve our health problem, but I believe it will ultimately happen.

What Can Be Done About Male Baldness?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

There are a lot of men who suffer from male baldness. Although this is something many men go through later in their life it can become a distressing occurrence, which is why so many people choose to look at the hair loss products, some of the products work better than others. Some are just a lotion with an expensive price tag.

Male baldness is caused by many factors. Hair loss products available include wigs, which can prove itchy and uncomfortable, plus there is always the chance that they could come off at the most awkward of times.

For those who are looking for a more permanent baldness cure, with a high success rate there is cosmetic surgery. Hair transplantation is when the surgeon takes hair from the roots from another part of the body then puts it into the skin where the hair is thinning or none existent. Some of the hair in this kind of treatment does not survive, but that can be from 0 to 10%, which is only a small amount, if you think of the 90% in the worst-case scenario that remains.

Another cure for male baldness is similar yet it causes less scarring. This is where a small punch is used to put the hair in, this is a similar method to that of dolls, and has the same success result as above.

After you go for hair loss treatment of this kind, you will find that the hair will fall out, although this is only temporary, as new growth will start soon after.

One product available for male baldness is in tablet form, such tablets contain an ingredient called MSM, which has been researched and is also thought to help hair growth.

NAC is another ingredient that is in some of the hair loss products. It has been shown to reduce the amount of hair loss occurring meaning that men can keep their natural hair for much longer.

There are also shampoo’s available as well as many other hair loss products including lotions, conditioners and creams. These are applied to the area that has no or little hair in order to stimulate hair growth or reduce further hair loss. They are usually massaged in for a while; some are washed out afterwards while others are left to work for a while.

A thinning comb is also available, and for those who prefer to use a brush, they also have one of those. You can choose which is best for you depending on the length of your hair. The brushes and combs claim to keep the hair nourished and also to look thicker. Although this is not a treatment for baldness, it can help those beginning to suffer from hair loss to keep the hair they already have and by making it look thicker it will hide the thinner parts. There is a satisfaction report back of 90%.

The growth gel hair loss products are not a hair thinning or baldness cure, what they claim to do is to stop the hair you have from falling out in the first place so that you do not have to take any further measures once the hair has actually fallen out. This is not a hair loss treatment as should not be used as such. It is for use by men who suffer from thinning hair.

Some hair loss products work by ensuring the DHT blockers are stopped. DHT is an abbreviation for dihydrotestosterone. When DHT is blocked this can cause the male pattern baldness that is often seen.

There are many different hair loss products available for baldness, thinning hair and many that claim to be a cure, some work better than others. Those that do work give men a higher level of confidence especially those who are worried about the hair loss when they have watched other men in their close family suffer from the same thing. None of the hair loss products are an overnight cure, and any that claim to be should be avoided at all costs.
