Stop Smoking The Easy Way

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

As of March 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that about 22% of high school students and 22% of adults in America are current cigarettes smokers, making of this issue a major health concern nationwide. Awareness, however, is not enough to help you quit smoking.
Let’s face it, you know that smoking cigarettes is not a “chic thing” any longer. Advertising through the 20th century pictured men and women becoming socially successful, sensual or fascinating just for the fact of smoking “x” cigarette brand. Today all of us know that is not matter of brands, but a problem putting in risk your life.
Cigarette smoking is responsible for about 438,000 deaths in the United States each year, remaining as the top preventable cause of death in the country. Furthermore, 38,000 of those deaths are caused by secondhand smoke exposure, so even the no smoker is exposed to lethal compounds produced by tobacco when burned.
When it comes to quit smoking, learning more about health problems that tobacco cause to your family and yourself may not be enough evidence to stop smoking cigarettes. Every sincere attempt to do so, however, contributes to reduce gradually your addiction to nicotine, just one of the 4,000 harmful substances found in tobacco smoke.
There are natural products and over-the-counter nicotine replacements such as nicotine gum and patches, useful aids for getting over the addiction to cigarettes. Making realistic goals, setting a date for quit smoking, and stick as much as possible to your plans is a must for a healthy life.
Whether this is your first quitting attempt if you have been trying for years, don’t give up and start over again if your attempt fails. As one of the most powerful stimulant drugs, nicotine is an addiction that need to be admitted, explored, and combated consistently.
Never try to minimize the problem saying that smoking is something you can deal with. Reducing the number of cigarettes you smoke a day doesn’t reduce your chances of getting serious illness, including lung disease, cancer and heart stroke.
Nevertheless, using smokeless tobacco is another alternative to quit smoking eventually. Exercising, thinking positively and getting involved in activities held in places where smoking is not permitted are just basic but effective steps toward a brand new non-smoking day.

Fibromyalgia ” How Does Diet Contribute?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Fibromyalgia is a disease whose symptoms include chronic fatigue (no matter how much sleep is attained), muscle and joint pain, has no known cause. It impacts up to 5% of the population, largely women.

With so many people afflicted with this disorder, I am amazed at the number of my clients who have told me that they had to see several doctors before one would actually acknowledge that fibromyalgia is even a health condition.

Not only did they often times not have the support of friends and family, they were then subjected to experts who, at best, summed the condition up to depression. They were then prescribed assorted antidepressants, all with dangerous side effects.

Theres nothing more unpleasant than knowing there is something is not right with you and being told that its all in your head.

The correspondence I have gotten has been heart breaking, with the omission of the gratitude verbalized by my clients over the fact that my Fibromyalgia program has helped them significantly.

Several have asked if there is something in their diet or environment that could be triggering this condition. Emerging findings shows that diet can, in fact play a very large role.

While diet is not thought to cause or even trigger fibromyalgia like say, migraine headaches, the growing belief is that fibromyalgia symptoms are exacerbated by other conditions which can be caused or triggered by certain foods. Once these conditions subside, the result is that fibromyalgia symptoms dissipate.

The thing to keep in mind is that fibromyalgia loves diversity. Just as not everyone is affected to the same extremes, there is no all-inclusive list of foods to shun from. The key is to take note of certain known foods that affect many with fibromyalgia and test to see if your condition is relieved over time as you test eliminate these foods from your diet.

Some foods experts say now to avoid Aspartame and MSG. They are known to stimulate certain pain receptors which for fibromyalgia sufferers are already heightened.

Removing caffeine from ones diet has also proven to be effective. While many are tempted to drink caffeine drinks for the pep, it can actually make fatigue worse.

Dairy foods also make the list, although this is debateable. Some think strengthened bones can actually ease joint pain.

Also included are yeast, mold, gluten and vinegar. This is believed to be because TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder), IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and migraines, all known to affect fibromyalgia symptoms, are set off by these foods.

A macrobiotic diet (whole foods) has shown hope for some fibromyalgia patients, as well as Omega 3 fatty acids (found in fish, flax see, certain nuts and also added to specific foods such as cereal).

I also recommend you to try my Fibromyalgia program. Its outcome have been amazing!

How Do I Order Good Coffee Online Cheaply?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Gone are the days where the only place you could buy a special blend or rare stock of coffee beans was at the super high priced specialty stores. Now you don’t have to bother with going out to buy that rich aromatic bag of freshly ground coffee. You can order coffee online whenever you want without leaving the house or office and have it delivered right to your doorstep!

While talking of a coffee “bean”, did you know that coffee beans are in fact not beans as in a vegetable, but a cherry like fruit and the pit of the coffee cherry consist of two beans that are flat on the one side and concaved on the other? In addition, did you know that coffee beans are the second most exported product in the world?

When you order coffee online, there are literally hundreds of blends you can choose from. However, very few people know that that in fact when they order coffee online, they are ordering from different blends of flavor and not different blends of coffee beans. There are only two cultivars of coffee beans that are grown for commercial purposes. Arabica coffee and coffee robusta are the most common to the world’s coffee buyers and Arabica coffee comprises of 75% of the global coffee trade.

While searching and reading through the different online sites where you can order coffee online, you can almost experience the rich strong smell one can only find in those boutique coffee shops. How would you know what it taste like? When you are in a coffee shop selling ground and whole roasted coffees, at least you can “smell” the taste thereof or get an idea what it will taste like, but to order coffee online, you need to have a strong imagination to convert the descriptions of each flavour into taste or smell.

If you’re contemplating buying coffee online, you can be assured that the shops where you order coffee online are extremely fastidious in the selection of coffees they offer. These are taste tested and have proven to be popular with their retail customers, so you can feel assured that descriptions for each coffee is reasonably accurate and that the freshness of the beans will be something the merchant upholds carefully.

As if this trend of ordering coffee online needs any helping hand on the marketing thereof, most online coffee shops ship each day using express or two day mail and frequently offer discounts on the first order you place with them. Frequent buyers are rewarded with additional savings when they order coffee online.

Unlike purchasing from a traditional retail store, when you order coffee online, it will not cost you an arm and a leg. Prices will vary from site to site, but generally, you can generally save more than you’d expect by shopping online. Not only that, most retail stores don’t or can’t carry all the different varieties that you may crave, thereby giving online shopping the advantage when it comes to greater selection.

Types Of Psychotic Symptoms Of Bipolar Disorder

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Psychotic symptoms are hallucinations or delusions. A hallucination or delusion is a cognitive misperception of reality.

Hallucinations can be visual, auditory, olfactory, or tactile, though most people associate hallucinations with visual hallucinations. In addition to seeing things that are not present, hallucinations can involve hearing things, smelling things, and feeling things that are not truly there.

Delusions are extreme, unrealistic thoughts. Not all unrealistic thoughts are delusions. The difference between delusions and an unrealistic thought is the extreme nature of a delusion. For example, a delusion may be of thinking that the FBI are monitoring the person’s activities or that they have superpowers.

The psychiatric illness that is most often associated with psychosis is schizophrenia. Psychotic symptoms can also occur with bipolar disorder and depression.

There are different types of schizophrenia, largely categorized based on the types of psychotic symptoms the person experiences. For example, paranoid schizophrenia often causes delusions of being watched or monitored. Some psychotic symptoms of schizophrenia can seem random.

Psychotic symptoms of bipolar disorder and depression are related to the mood disturbance. Psychotic symptoms of depression or depressive episodes can be much more severe than suicidal thoughts.

An example of a hallucination due to a depressive episode is hearing voices telling the person to commit suicide. Depression can cause delusions that the earth is a hellish place from which they must save their loved ones by killing them.

Mania causes hallucinations and delusions related to euphoria and grandiosity. The person may have a delusion that they have superpowers or have been chosen by God or another supernatural being.

Bipolar disorder and depression do not commonly cause psychotic symptoms. Most people living with these psychiatric conditions will never experience psychotic episodes.

Medication to treat psychosis, commonly referred to as anti-psychotic drugs, may be used to treat psychotic symptoms of bipolar disorder. Injections of an anti-psychotic medication like Haldol may be necessary if the person is resistent to taking their medication regularly.

The person may no longer experience psychotic symptoms once the bipolar disorder or depression is stabilized. The hallucinations and delusions are the person’s reality at the time the psychotic symptoms are experienced. People experiencing psychotic episodes may become fearful of the psychosis.
