my son & hubby would get flu and a cold every year – it would pass me by then when i quit smoking i become ill! came down with flu february, stopped smoking due to all the coughing from flu virus, then got pneumonia, chest xray shows asthma, had 4 lots of anti-b’s for pneumonia, i still cough now especially in the mornings, plus i have what feels like mucous at the back of my nose/throat and have excess saliva . my sense of smell is so sensitive now and my taste has changed i am eating things i wouldnt have dreamed of before – what has your experience been? my doctor said it would take between 13-16 weeks for my lungs to heal. any thoughts on this matter? i thought giving up smoking would have been good for me!!!!

I have smoked since I was 14. When I started being with my boyfriend I up and stopped smoking the 2 packs a week I was. It went down to once a week, then not for a couple months, and then maybe once in a great while. Its back to wanting to be once in a great while, or when I am drinking. I love him, and he thinks that If i really did love him I would see how much it meant to him that I stop for good. But It just lets me loosen up a bit, and get rid of some of my nerves. And I also think that a person can only quit for good when they themselves want to. What do I do?
