Hell yes! It is the easiest way of all to quit smoking. I’m not so sure about losing weight from it, but it will prevent you from gaining weight while you quite smoking. The down-side is that if you don’t watch what you eat after going off the wellbutrin, you can then easily gain the weight that you would have when you quit the cigs. As for anxiety attacks – the good news is that wellbutrin is often prescribed in conjunction with anti- anxiety/antidepressant drugs. While some of the drugs can make you feel “draggy”, the wellbutrin is like the little shot of energy you need. While it gives you energy, you don’t get nervous, shaky or wired. I recommend avoiding Effexor – the withdrawal is horrible when it is time to go off.

Wellbutrin was first marked at an anti-anxiety/depression medication (although I can’t remember what it was originally marketed as). Now, obviously, its also used as an aid to quit smoking. It will help with the anxiety, and you won’t run into many cravings with it. However, with the weight gain, you’re still probably looking at gaining 5-10lbs. Smoking does actually increase your metabolism. When you quit, its going to drop slightly. 5-10 lbs it a normal weight gain. Anymore than that and you’re replacing the nicotine with food. Hope this help!

yes, it’s an antidepressant drug, but it has been used successfully for helping to quit smoking, too… peace for your journey and good luck!!!
