Schip To Be Funded By Tax On Smokers, Why Does The Bailout Have $50 Million For Stop Smoking Programs?

The recently passed SCHIP bill in the house funds the additional spending through higher taxes on cigarettes and tobacco products. But the bailout now has about $50 Million for stop smoking programs. If they are trying to raise money for SCHIP using tobacco revenue, why are they trying to get people to quit in the bailout?

How Do I Control Carving For Smoking A Cigarette?

I am 28 years old,until the 1st week of march’06 for the past 4 years i have been smoking about 5-10 cigarettes a day.
In the 2nd week of March’06,one fine day,i decided to call it quits and just stopped smoking.
Almost 2 months have passed since then,today i couldnt control the carving for a cigarette.Since the day i stopped smoking,i have been having these carvings but have been just telling myself NO SMOKING and getting along.today i just couldnt concentrate on my work because i have been having these carving for a cigarette and told myself dat i’ll smoke just one so that i can concentrate on my work and smoked a cigarette.
I think i can completely stop smoking if i can control my carving for a cigarette.
Any ideas on how to put an end to my carving and look ahead and lead a healthy non smoker life?????

I Should Stop Smoking Marijuana, But All My Friends Smoke!?

I’ve been smoking weed very consistently over the past 5 years, and it’s getting to the point where I don’t really even get that high anymore unless I smoke a ton, which uses up too much cash, so essentially I’m broke. I have a job and am going to college, have a girlfriend etc., so I know that I can smoke and still function, and I live in the SF bay area, so the weed is awesome! All of my friends/roomies smoke too, which is great if I want to keep smoking, but not so great if I want to quit.
I feel also that I’m becoming depressed because I smoke so much and so often.. I dunno, I feel like I should quit, but I’m not really sure if I want to. Despite the negatives that come from smoking, I’m still pretty into the positives. Nothing beats coming home from a day at work and rolling up some sweet ganja.
..Sorry, I wrote this while kinda stoned, so it might come off as a bit confusing…but what should I do? Keep smoking or quit?
