They smoke almost every 10 minutes. And they both have fatal, bad diseases. My mom has lupus, where she can’t fight anything off, and it affects her major organs. She has epilepsy too; Doctors say it’s because of a bad car wreck when she flew out the windshield ^^. My dad has heart disease and has already had a heart attack. He’s only 46. My Mom is 37. They smoke out in the garage every hour, at the very minimum. They smoke in the car. They smoke, smoke, smoke. Like a pack a day. And more. And my mom is on a diet which is great, and my dad did have a HORRIBLE diet, and it’s still not at it’s best, but he’s doing a lot better. It really hurts me really bad to watch them do that and I hate talking bad about his diet, but that’s something you probably need to know. I’m just really really worried watching them do that and I’m never gonna do that. But they smoke near us and I don’t wanna suffer from their bad decisions. My aunt stopped smoking, without using anything. They always say “i know, i’mma try to quit” and that they know it’s bad. But they never do. If this continues, I know they will die young. It’s hard to say and think, but it’s the truth and I want to change that. My dads already had a heart attack and he is middle aged! It’s because of smoking and the diet. I always tell them but they get mad at me usually when I say something. And they have bad mood swings and sometimes I just want them to just go smoke because until they do they are in a bad mood because of the addiction to nicotine. It’s a bad example and I think it’s gross. They say if they knew the dangers back then that they wouldn’t have started. But I think it’s time they quit. What do they do? How do I convince them? I know it’s up to them but they won’t do it all themselves. I have tried really hard. Please help, I’m very very worried. They smoke A LOT, I mean..A LOT. Tell me how to fix it.

I am 24, my b/f is 29. He has been smoking since he was 13, however he says he is going to quit, but that he isn’t ready. Two questions, how can I help him become motivated to without being pushy, and also, how long should I wait for him to quit. In other words, you can only say “I’m going to quit” for how long before it doesn’t become true anymore? What are some signs I should be looking for out of him in other words?

If someone has been a smoker for over 20 years and wants to quit. Is it safe to stop the nicotine suddenly and are there side effects? I’m curious from those that have actual experience quitting. I hear about this new drug that supposedly helps but it’s by prescription only and I’d be leary of it’s side effects as well. Suggestions welcome for someone who desparately wants to quit and stay smoke free.

I have not had a cigarette in 7 days. My intentions are to finally quit for good. I have been eating everything that has not run from me for the last week and can feel my size 7 frame starting to explode.
I can only assume that since I am no longer spending my time smoking that now I am trying to fill that time with eating. Anyone else out there experience this and if so how did you manage these cravings?

First off, I’m 14. I have to take a surprise drug test soon…I got caught at my school with weed about a three weeks ago. I “relapsed” this weekend. I don’t know if I should just keep on smoking or quit ?
Weed makes everything better for me. No depression. I’m motivated to do things. Makes me get along with my family. I make the best memories and have a blast. I know I am psychologically addicted to it. It’s always on my mind.
What should I do ? When I got caught my parents first found out I smoked. They’ve been so disappointed in me.
