Is It Normal For Your Lungs To Hurt After You’ve Quit Smoking?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I stopped smoking about 2 weeks ago. Part of the reason why I quit was because I was getting a chronic pain in the left side of my chest when I breathed. Now that I have stopped smoking the pain in my chest when I breathe seems to be getting worse. Rather then being just on the left side it is all over. I have not been coughing or anything so I know that is not the cause.
I was in the ER over the weekend for a different illness and they did a chest x-ray and said everything looked fine.
Is this just part of quitting smoking or should I be concerned?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I quit smoking 3 weeks ago and didn’t gain any weight until last week. I found it a bit odd that I gained so much weight because I’d been working out a lot. Is the weight gain due to stopping smoking? Does weight gain happen that long after quitting? Is it temporary? I don’t like that my pants won’t button.
