how long after you quit smoking do you stop having cravings?
I am 16 weeks pregnant and still kind of smoking. i smoke maybe 2 or 3 a day and some days i don’t smoke at all. i had my first ultra sound and the doctor said that me and the baby look healthy! im happy about that but i still feel very guilty about smoking, especially since my boyfriend thinks that i have completely stopped because i dont smoke with him around. i smoke mostly in the car so i was wondering if anyone had any tips for me to help me stop! thankk you.
If someone has been a smoker for over 20 years and wants to quit. Is it safe to stop the nicotine suddenly and are there side effects? I’m curious from those that have actual experience quitting. I hear about this new drug that supposedly helps but it’s by prescription only and I’d be leary of it’s side effects as well. Suggestions welcome for someone who desparately wants to quit and stay smoke free.
I had started smoking 7 months ago after not smoking for 2 years.I have no idea why i started up again and i have no clue to how i did it the 1st time.I don’t want to take any meds to stop.So no advice on that please.Thanks.
nicotine leave the body in three days, but the withdrawl because of the psycological addiction can last longer … this is how i quit:
Quitting smoking is extremely difficult. The withdrawl makes us not want to, but we know the risks and we know that they are not worth it. For anyone who wants to end their nicotine addiction, check out www.stopsmokingcleveland.com. This is the MOST effective method on the market. It is 86% effective and the details of the program are on the website (no signing up or submitting your information).
I tried this program and it changed my life.
My first step was identifying my “must smoke” situations e.g. after meals, after sex (no kidding) and cutting those out, one at a time…
After that, it was a matter of dealing with individual cravings when they arose….what worked for me there was just telling myself that if I could put it off for five minutes, I’d be OK, and the cravings wouyld subside.
Also, and this may or may not apply in your case, I used to smoke weed, and I gave that up as well. “After A Couple Of Bonghits” was also one of my “must smoke a cigarette” situations.
Good luck!
i tried drinking water but its not working. any tips would be great.
I’m 16 and smoke anywhere from 10-20 every day and have done for the past 2 years. I desperately want to stop, but smoking seems to break up my days. I smoke in the morning with my dad. Then he offers me another on my journey to school. Then I meet some friends just before school begins and smoke again. Break, Lunch, Free periods – same story. I smoke with my sister when I get home, then my dad when he returns from work. I even use smoking as a treat after I’ve done something ’stressful’. Ridiculous things, like a bit of exercise or a piece of schoolwork. I need to change my pattern, but don’t know how. Any suggestions?
I’m only 21 but I have been smoking a pack a day since I was 15. I’ve tried to quit about 4 times using the nicotine patches. The longest i’ve quit for has only been a day. I don’t know why I just can’t do it. I’m really shy and always smoke in any social situation. I also always smoke when I’m bored. I don’t see how I am ever going to stop. I’m wondering what methods other people have used to quit ! ? Help ! !
Hi, My mom is a smoker and she says she doesn’t smoke that much but she went through 3 packs of cigarettes in the last week. She won’t take a nicotine patch or anything…. I’m worried and I don’t know what to do. What can I do to stop her smoking?
